Some houses try to hide the factThat children shelter there,
Ours boasts of it quite openly,
The signs are everywhere!
For smears are on the windows,
Little smudges on the door.
I should apologize I guess
For toys strewn on the floor.
But I sat down with the children
And we played and laughed and read,
And if the door bell does not shine,
Their eyes will shine instead!
For when at times I am freed to choose
The one job or the other,
I want to be a homemaker
But first I'll be a Mother!

I stumbled across your blog via Frugal hackers, and I'm glad I did! I frequent the Weston A Price Foundation site and noticed you link to it as well--very cool! My husband's family also lives on a farm in western rural KY. We would love to have a farm as well, but right now we're just on an acre in Virginia. I'll bookmark your blog. :)
